The researcher believes that it is unfair to blame people in principle, because they are unable to control their own actions. For example, in his opinion, there is no difference between a drunk driver who hit a pedestrian and a motorist who had an accident due to a heart attack, or a person who shoots at people and his victims. They all found themselves in similar circumstances through no fault of their own.
However, many of the scientist’s colleagues disagreed with his opinion.
