According to him, each of the neurons is influenced by factors that cannot be controlled. The same thing happens at the macro level. Researchers know very well that behavior changes significantly due to hunger, stress, fear and a number of other reasons. Often people themselves do not understand what makes them act in one way or another. As a result, their choice, according to Sapolsky, cannot be called conscious.
